I Just Had the Best (Facilitated) Meeting


You make the world better through great user experiences. You want to spend more time creating that world and less time explaining the basics, defending your choices, and selling the best approaches in meetings. But in meetings is where you find yourself, and it feels like they often introduce friction, ambiguity, and drag. But the good news is a meeting can be designed just like any experience. By integrating human centered design itself into our meetings, we can start to recognize our own biases, become better facilitators, and run the better meeting experiences that we deserve.

Kevin Hoffman (@kevinmhoffman) is the author of Meeting Design for Makers, Managers, and Everyone from Two Waves/Rosenfeld Media. He connects people, ideas, and solutions in order solve our industry’s pressing design challenges. As Vice President for Design Practices at Capital One, he takes responsibility for assessing, exploring, and accelerating all areas of design with a team of over 80 very talented human beings. He also co-founded a software product, Boardthing, and a design agency, Seven Heads Design, a network of digital design thinkers who collaborated frequently on major projects. Kevin regularly shares his insights at conferences across the world.

Policies

All registration activities are handled by our volunteers. Please be advised that on the day of the event, we will do our best to manage transfers and late requests, but our primary focus will be on day-of-event logistics.

Regular registration closes at 5pm ET on Friday, February 23 -or- whenever seating capacity is reached, whichever occurs first. Tickets can be transferred by sending a request to RSVP@nycuxpa.org up until 48 hours before the event opening. Transfer requests received after this period may not be received or processed. Transferees will please bring the transferrer's registration confirmation in printed or digital form as backup.

If the event sells out early, a Wait List may be set up and managed by us on a discretionary basis. We will do our best to keep Wait-Listers informed about the status of available seating, but Wait Listers who haven't heard anything by noon the day of the event can assume there has been no change in status.
