A common task for digital agencies is to redesign something that already exists; something that, with a little user experience love, could boost a company's revenue and improve brand perception.  It is a much rarer occurrence, however, that experience professionals are asked to design something so transformational to a company’s business that it also redefines their brand.

Interactive marketing agency Razorfish recently had the opportunity to do just that for music industry leader Billboard and its digital property,

NYC UPA invites you to meet Razorfish User Experience Lead Bryan Hamilton as he shares both the process and the results of this recent project.  Bryan will walk through the agency's initial pitch, the client’s main challenges, and the key ingredients needed to turn an ordinary redesign project into the transformation of a brand and its long-term business strategy.


Bryan Hamilton is a User Experience Lead in Razorfish’s New York office. He has been designing, building and complaining about web experiences for 10 years and over the last 2.5 years at Razorfish has focused on media and entertainment clients in particular. He enjoys the challenges of designing for emerging technologies and has developed many new product prototypes for companies such as HBO, Viacom and CondeNast. Bryan has been a creative director, interactive producer, product manager and information architect and has a formal education in fine arts.

"Today more than ever we need to be building online-native products not simply websites for our clients. Attention on the web is clearly dominated by products that do something, they share our thoughts, store our photos or keep us entertained. If we want our work to compete for this attention we must fundamentally change the way we think about approaching the redesign project."
