Nominees for the President, Vice President, Treasurer & Secretary role

Open positions: We are currently seeking nominees for the President, Vice President, Treasurer & Secretary role to stand in for the 2024 term.

Eligibility: To submit a nomination, or to be nominated, you must be a paid member of NYC UXPA in good standing.

Interested in running for President position? 

The President role requires the following commitment:

  • Approximate 30 hours minimum per month

  • Sets strategy and vision for the organization

  • Monitors current UX trends and curates programming to keep membership engaged on a monthly basis

  • Defines event-related milestones and methods for managing the milestones month-to-month

  • Vets presentations and prepares presenters for events

  • Builds relationships with sponsors and venues for hosting events

  • Senior Editor for all communications

  • Works with related organizations to co-host events

  • Maintains ownership of websites and accounts that make up NYC UXPA's administration

  • Finds creative methods to keep volunteers informed and engaged

  • Work with the board of directors to develop special initiative groups (SIGs) to execute on strategic goals

  • Collaborates with the Treasurer to manage financial & legal affairs

Interested in running for Vice President position? 

The Vice President role requires the following commitment:

  • Approx. 20 hours per month

  • Co-lead with President on various chapter initiatives

  • Work with related organizations to co-host events

  • Vet presentations and prepares presenters for events

  • Build relationships with sponsors and venues for hosting events

  • Assume Presidency if the current President is no longer able to serve

  • Act as a second signatory for approval of chapter expenses

  • Assist Treasurer in the management of organization finances

Interested in running for Treasurer position? 

The President role requires the following commitment:

  • Approx. 20 hours per month

  • Maintains the chapter's bank account and finances, including receipt of event registrations, annual member dues and other income

  • Monitors monthly expenditures

  • Ensures the filing and annual renewal of chapter tax documentation

  • Provides guidance and counsel regarding major expenses

  • Provides expense reimbursement for speakers and chapter volunteers

  • Manage communications with members regarding individual payments and refunds, for event tickets and membership applications

  • Pays vendor invoices for chapter expenses

  • Prepares quarterly reports

  • Works with accountant to reconcile monthly financial activity

Interested in running for Secretary position? 

The Secretary role requires the following commitment:

  • Approx. 15 hours per month commitment

  • Maintain records of past minutes and documentation

  • Oversee bylaw and policy documents and act as subject matter expert

  • Responsible for the giving and serving of all notices of the Chapter

  • Manage and maintain committee terms of reference documents
