Chelsey DelaneySenior User Experience Consultant, Catalyst Group Engaging Users With Humor DesignChelsey is a Senior User Experience Consultant at Catalyst Group, as well as an outspoken humor studies researcher and designer. She’s spoken about and given workshops on the topic of humor design at Ignite!, SXSW Interactive, LeanUX NYC, and humor research conferences. Chelsey is an advocate for getting at the essence and truth of an experience, and believes strategic use of humor in design is a magnificent way to achieve that feat. She received a bachelor’s degree in multimedia journalism from the University of Texas at Austin, and received a master’s degree in design from Carnegie Mellon University.

She is responsible for designing digital product experiences across the broader transition from physical plastic cards to digital. She is also responsible for leading design of our third party developer tools, to bring MasterCard capabilities to a broader set of commerce innovations. Karen is focused on connecting business strategy with deep user insights to deliver innovative design solutions. She has had a long career in design prior to joining MasterCard, including executive design leadership roles at PayPal and JPMorgan Chase.

David WhittleDirector of User Research, Spotify Different Types of EngagementDavid Whittle is Director of User Research at Spotify. He founded the User Research team, bringing user-centred design thinking into the product development process, and is also Director of Design with responsibility for some core features of the service. Before Spotify, he led the User Experience team at Last.fm in London, and worked as a UX designer, researcher and consultant. He has been helping humans and computers understand each other since 1995.
